Your Skin Didn’t Get the Fall Memo
September with ME Skincare | Minnie Essentials Skincare
September has arrived.
The stores have pumpkins out. Fall decorations are everywhere. Somebody somewhere already has on a sweater even though it is STILL hot outside.
And here in the High Desert?
Our skin is probably looking around like…
“Fall WHERE?”
Because September can be a funny month for sensitive and eczema-prone skin. One minute we’re dealing with heat, sweat, and blazing sunshine, and before we know it, cooler mornings and dry air start creeping in.
That seasonal switch-up can mean our skincare routine needs a little attention too.
Your Skin Has Seasons Too
We change our clothes with the weather.
We change what we eat.
We turn the air conditioner down.
Eventually, we pull the blankets back out.
But sometimes we forget that our skin notices seasonal changes too.
If your skin suddenly feels a little drier, tighter, itchier, or just plain irritated, pay attention. It may be telling you that something in your routine needs adjusting.
And for those of us with sensitive or eczema-prone skin, sometimes the smallest things can make a BIG difference.
Long hot showers?
Your skin might vote NO.
Skipping moisturizer because you’re running late?
Your skin definitely noticed.
Trying three new products at the same time because somebody on social media said they were amazing?
Your sensitive skin may request an emergency meeting.
Sometimes simple really is better.
September’s ME Skin Check
This month, I want you to do something we don’t talk about enough:
Pay attention to YOUR skin.
Not your favorite influencer’s skin.
Not your sister’s.
Not your child’s.
Not the person in the comment section who swears one product changed their life overnight.
Yours.
Notice when your skin feels its best.
Notice what happens after your shower.
Notice whether certain fragrances, fabrics, weather changes, or products seem to bother you.
And most importantly, stop feeling like you have to constantly add something new to your routine.
Sensitive skin doesn’t always need more.
Sometimes it needs less confusion and more consistency.
A Little ME History You May Not Know
Since we’re talking about ME this month, let me officially tell you what those two little letters actually mean.
ME stands for Minnie Essentials Skincare.
Yep—there’s a Minnie behind the ME.
ME Skincare started from a very personal place. What began with me trying to find something that worked well for my daughter’s eczema-prone skin eventually grew beyond our home.
Family tried it.
Friends tried it.
Coworkers tried it.
Then came customers.
And somehow, what started as a mother trying to care for her daughter’s skin became something I could share with other families and individuals dealing with sensitive and eczema-prone skin.
That part of ME Skincare still means the most to me.
Because when somebody reaches out and says, “Minnie, what should I do?” I understand that they aren’t just asking about lotion or cleanser.
They’re frustrated.
They’re tired of scratching.
They’re tired of buying products.
They’re trying to figure out their skin.
And sometimes they just want somebody to point them toward a simpler place to start.
So Here’s Your September Reminder…
You do not need a bathroom counter filled with 27 products to care about your skin.
Keep your showers warm instead of extremely hot.
Be gentle when drying your skin instead of rubbing it like you’re trying to erase something.
Moisturize while your skin is still slightly damp.
Pay attention to ingredients and fragrances that don’t agree with you.
And give a routine enough time to actually learn how your skin responds.
Most importantly, listen to your skin.
Your skin doesn’t care what’s trending.
It cares about what works for you.
From Minnie
September is a transition month, and maybe that’s the perfect reminder that our routines can transition too.
As we slowly move from summer into fall, take a few minutes to check in with your skin and the skin of the people you care for.
What’s working?
What’s not?
What can you simplify?
At ME Skincare — Minnie Essentials Skincare, we’re going to keep doing what we’ve always believed in: keeping sensitive skincare simple, gentle, intentional, and made with real people in mind.
Because around here, ME may stand for Minnie Essentials… but taking care of your skin should always include YOU.
Until next month,
Minnie
